The Cordillera
Blanca is undoubtedly one of the
most important and beautiful in
the world; it is located to 400km
to the west of Lima, capital of
Peru, Ancash. These two bulks are
part of the Andean arc of 7500km
in length that borders the western
coast of South America located in
the valley of the Callejón
de Huaylas and the Callejón
de Conchucos to the east of the
valley of Santa and the Cordillera
Negra, the Cordillera Blanca is
the highest tropical Cordillera
in the world.
It faces Southeastern - northwest parallel
to the coast of the Pacific. Approximately
7 million years old, it is formed mainly
of granitic rocks. It is also one of the
most famous mountainous bulks in Perú
and in the world, considered the most
beautiful of the Andes. This Cordillera
has 300 summits from which 27 exceed the
height of 6.000 m. and the Parque Nacional
Huascarán, which is a treasure
of the natural inheritance of Peru and
the world, it is a valid museum outdoors
and the destiny of thousands of visitors.
The Cordillera Blanca extends through
180 km. from north to south parallel to
the Pacific Ocean, and inside you can
find the most beautiful and hightest snow-capped
mountains like the Alpamayo and the Huascarán
that exceeds 6768 masl. Also we can find
the places of the Andes like the flora
and fauna that are ornaments of nature.
